Why the site exists
Borrowing a car often begins with a simple arrangement between relatives, friends or partners. The insurance position is less simple. Permission from the owner does not make the driver insured, and a comprehensive policy does not necessarily let its policyholder drive every other car.
We publish practical explanations of the points people need to check before a loan. We do not issue insurance, advise which policy is personally suitable or handle claims.
How the site is funded
Some pages link to Safely Insured, where visitors can compare short-term policies. If you follow one of these links and buy insurance, Prudent Plus Limited may receive commission. This does not add to your premium. The commercial relationship does not change the questions you should ask: read the policy, check eligibility and make sure it fits the driver, car and journey.
